A Pact with the Sun
Introduction: This heartwarming story highlights the healing power of nature - fresh air and sunshine. It tells the story of Saeeda and her sick mother, and how Saeeda's love and faith made a "pact" with the sun rays to heal her mother.
Summary
Saeeda's mother was suffering from fever, cough, body-ache, and painful joints for a long time. Foolish doctors forbade her from stepping out in the sun or breathing fresh air. They kept her confined to a small, dark room, which made her condition worse.
Finally, they consulted a specialist. He prescribed medicine but, more importantly, strictly ordered her to move to a bigger room, open the windows, and sit in the sun every morning from eight to nine. He said, "Sunshine and fresh air are more important than medicine."
However, for the next few days, the sky remained cloudy. Saeeda, a little girl, prayed to the sun rays, "Please come tomorrow with lots of warmth and brightness. My mother is ill and needs your help." The sun rays promised to come.
The next day, despite the clouds trying to block their way, the sun rays forced their way through to keep their promise to Saeeda. Saeeda's mother sat in the sun, breathed fresh air, and felt a new life. Within a few days, she recovered largely, thanks to the medicine and the "pact" her daughter made with the sun.
